I'm honestly flummoxed on how to rate this book. I've never read a Stephen King book before, but my 21 yr. old son loves his work, so I thought I'd give one a try then pass the hardcover on to him. I've read numerous reviews that said Revival was King's "return to form" and that this book gave them nightmares. I was so ready to be scared out of my wits, but when I got to the end...meh. I wasn't terrified or even mildly spooked for that matter. Now did he deliver as far as good writing and compelling characters are concerned? Absolutely. Revival was a definite page turner, the story drew me in, and I wanted to know how it ended. I couldn't wait to pick it back up every evening and start reading. It's just then when I got to the much-anticipated final climax it was anti-climactic.
